STROMAL CELL TUMORS

About 5% to 7% of ovarian cancers are stromal  cell tumors(cell that produce female sex hormone),most of these are granulosa cell tumors.More than half of stromal  tumors are found in women older than 50,but about 5% of stromal tumors occur in young girls.The most common symptoms of these tumors is abnormal vaginal bleeding.This happens because many of these tumors produce female hormones like estrogen.These hormones can cause vaginal bleeding like aperiod to start again after menopause(after stop of monthly bleeding),or can cause menstrual periods and breast development in young girls.Another symptoms of stromal tumors can be sudden severe abdomenal pain.This occurs if the tumor to bleed. They are different types of cancerous stromal tumors.
