DEVELOPMENT OF FEMALE SEX ORGAN

DEVELOPMENT OF THE UTERUS AND FALLOPIAN TUBES
During the fifth week of development the lower end of the mullerian ducts (precursor tube)come together in the midline, fuse and develop into the uterus and cervix. At first there is a layer separating the space  of the two ducts, but later this disappears and a single hollow space  is formed, i.e. the uterus. The upper part of both ducts retain their identity and form the fallopian tubes.
                                    DEVELOPMENT OF A VAGINA

During the ninth week of developmental life, the cord (precursor cell)does not open out into the sinus (Channel)but makes contact with the sinovaginal bulbs, which are solid outgrowths from the sinus. As the pelvic region of the fetus elongates, the sinus and mullerian tubercle (small swelling cell)become increasingly distanced from the tubular portionals. The solid epithelial cord provides the length of the future vagina.Complete  formation of tube  in  the vagina is acomparatively late event, occurring in the sixth and seventh months.
DEVELOPMENT OF THE OUTSIDE SEX ORGAN
There is overlap in the timing of the formation of the outside  sex organ and the inside tube system. The female development is simple progression from these structures.
Genital tubercle give rise to clitoris.
Genital folds give rise to labia minora.
Genital swellings give rise to labia majora.
                              DEVELOPMENT OF OVARY
The primitive gonad(an organ that produces reproductive cells, like ovary) is first evident in the development at 5 weeks. The structural development of ovary occurs about 2 weeks later than the testes and proceeds more slowly.
